- Student must be a person of color, the primary focus on the Black Community.
- Extra consideration will be given to students attending HBCUs, especially Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Cheyney, PA; Lincoln University of PA, Lincoln University, PA; and St. Augustine’s University, Raleigh, NC.

- A student in grade 12 who is enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories.
- Does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must submit entries to a local VFW post.
- Although U.S. citizenship is not required, students must be permanent residents or have applied for permanent residence (the application for which has not been denied) to become a U.S. citizen.
- Foreign exchange students, students age 20 or older, previous Voice of Democracy first-place winners, GED or adult education students are ineligible.
- Must attend a high school located in the U.S.
- Eligible students can apply regardless of nationality or citizenship.
- Must have achieved an unweighted 3.5 CGPA based on a 4.0 Grading Scale.
- Must enroll in a four-year college or university, in the 2026 fall semester.
- FAFSA information is not required to apply.
- Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2026, to September 1, 2026.
- Parents 2024 Adjusted Gross Income must not have exceeded $100,000.
- Be a member in good standing on your high school varsity softball team your senior year.
- Plan to attend a college or trade school.
- Have played in the Lancaster County Girls Softball League (formerly DRGSL) at the U12 and U14 levels.
- Have a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4).
- Complete a 500-word essay on what playing softball on your Lancaster County Girls Softball League team meant to you.
- Submit Letters of Recommendation from your high school softball coach and a classroom teacher.
- Submit a copy of your high school academic transcript.
When students receive funding from PHEAA, they may also be considered for the PATH program, which provides supplemental grant funding to students demonstrating need.
The Feakins Foundation Scholarship is a need-based scholarship for students of Lancaster County who are undocumented, DACA recipients, or have TPS status.Applications are due by June 1st and November 1st of each year.

The 2025 Marietta GSK Vaccines Scholarship is available for students pursuing post-high school studies at a 4-year accredited institution of higher learning. Recipients should be planning to pursue a course of study consistent with GSK’s mission as a global leader in the development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, such as science, health, engineering, business, finance, or a related field.
The scholarship, up to $4,000 towards tuition, will be awarded after successful completion of one semester of college. The first-semester transcript and proof of enrollment for the second semester (invoice) must be presented and mailed directly to The Donegal Foundation at P.O. Box 495, Mount Joy, PA 17552. The Donegal Foundation will disperse the financial award from GSK.
This scholarship is intended to recognize a high-achieving high school senior who embodies the spirit and ideals of GSK Vaccines. It is not intended to improperly influence government officials or healthcare providers to support, endorse, recommend, or prescribe GSK products.

The mission statement of Rivertownes PA US is to cultivate the art, heritage and recreation of the river towns of Columbia, Marietta and Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. Rivertownes is a community organization that supports local organizations and projects that will enhance and benefit the community.

This $200 cash award will be presented to a Donegal senior and Marietta resident who has exhibited outstanding citizenship qualities through service to the school.

To qualify, the boy or girl must be a son or daughter of a veteran who has served honorably in any branch of the armed forces.
Applicant must be a graduating senior from your local high school and to have been accepted to a college in the State of Pennsylvania.

$250 to a student who resides in Mount Joy and shows excellence in academics and extracurricular activities and who will be pursuing a post-secondary degree.
The Seth Andrew Nornhold Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor the life of Seth Nornhold, who died of injuries sustained in a tragic vehicle accident in July 2020. Seth was 16 years old. Seth had a passion for music and was a talented drummer. His interests extended into music recording and technology. Seth was a devoted member of the Donegal High School Marching Band, Jazz Band and Concert Band. Outside of school, Seth pursued his passions by playing and recording with several garage bands and his church’s worship team. Seth lived his life with enthusiasm, hard work, determination and a fierce love for his family and friends.
Each year, a $2500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has participated in any of the music programs at Donegal High School. The scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing higher education to assist with the costs of attending the institution of their choice.
To be considered for this scholarship, the student must be a resident of Donegal School District and have been a registered student in the district during their high school years.
The student should have participated in any one or more of the music programs of Donegal High School. This may include marching, concert or jazz band, chorus, Rhythm Singers, string orchestra, color guard, or another program within the Donegal Music Association.
In order to be considered for the Seth Andrew Nornhold Memorial Scholarship, several criteria are required: the student will complete an application form; they must show a letter of acceptance and proof of enrollment in the higher-level institution to which they will be attending. The student will also submit a short musical performance video. A final requirement is an essay in which they share a story about themselves. The only guidelines for the essay are that it be a true story about themselves and reflect an experience that impacts who they are today.

Matthew “Matt” Ferruzza graduated from Donegal High School in 2013. Matt tragically lost his life as the result of a motorcycle accident on July 20th, 2024. Throughout Matt’s high school career, his biggest achievements weren’t just being academically inclined by taking honor classes and maintaining straight “A’s” but also being a part of the Donegal High School Football team, wearing Jersey #52. He played offensive guard and defensive end. Matt’s love for football was like no other- he started playing this sport when he was only 8 years old. Matt grew up establishing the best friendships with teammates- these friendships remain just as strong today.

This scholarship is intended to recognize a high school football senior who embodies the characteristics of Matthew - resilient, determined, a team player, and a hard worker.

The purpose of the scholarship is intended to provide scholarships for students graduating from Donegal High School, regardless of race, color, or creed. The award will be made based on character, scholastic achievement, and commitment to school and community.
This scholarship is for $1,000.00 per year for either a two- or four-year period, depending on the degree. The annual award will be paid to the recipient upon successfully completing the first semester at the institution (College, University, Technical School) where the recipient is enrolled.

The O’Connor Memorial Scholarship pays tribute to Dr. Thomas W. O’Connor Sr., a Mount Joy physician who served the Donegal School District and its residents during his nearly 40 years of active practice, and his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen O’Connor. Dr. and Mrs. O'Connor were devoted to their family and the many friends whose lives they touched through their extensive community service activities. Lifelong advocates of learning and education, they especially sought to inspire and support young people in their pursuit of knowledge and service to humanity. The scholarships bearing their names are to be awarded annually to two graduating seniors from Donegal High School who have demonstrated interest in health services and who plan to pursue post-secondary education in preparation for entering a health services field or profession.

Applications are now being accepted for the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Harrisburg Section scholarship program for the 2025-2026. ASHE annually offers scholarship opportunities to engineering students that reside in the greater Central Pennsylvania region. The scholarship program also includes students enrolled or planning to enroll in environmental/applied sciences and construction technology/trades helping to support the Highway Industry and the ASHE Mission. In 2025, the Harrisburg Section was able to award $25,000 to ten recipients.

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2026 competition.
Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. Judging is based on academics, leadership, service, and financial need.

The Dr. George H. and Mrs. Hettie S. Love "Love of Learning" Scholarship is established by the Bishop Nathan Baxter Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians for Students of Color with a primary focus on the Black community, entering a 2-year or 4-year college majoring in Education. Preference is given to a student attending an Historically Black College and University (HBCU), especially Cheyney University of PA, Lincoln University in PA, or St. Augustine's University in NC.

The VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. Established in 1947, the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regard to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, more than 26,400 9th through 12th grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $1.4 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.
The national first place winner receives a $35,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$21,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000. Students interested in participating must submit their audio essay prepared on this year's theme, with a completed 2025-2026 entry form, to their local participating VFW Post.

The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for goal-driven students in high school graduating class. Around 1,200 new four-year scholarships for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year in college will be awarded. Award recipients will receive $2,000 to purchase essential items for college and will be eligible to receive up to $7,500 each semester.
