A Message to Parents/Guardians and Students

A MESSAGE TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS AND STUDENTS

It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through the 2025-26 school year, and course selection for the 2026-27 year is quickly approaching. This is an important process that will directly shape students' schedules for next year, and active involvement from both students and parents is essential.

Our faculty and counseling staff are available to support students throughout the course selection process. We strongly encourage students to approach this task thoughtfully and to take it seriously. Consulting with current teachers and school counselors will help students develop a schedule that best meets their academic goals and individual needs.

We are also excited to welcome the incoming ninth-grade class—the Class of 2030—to Donegal High School. Course selection represents the first step in a series of activities designed to ensure a smooth and successful transition from Donegal Junior High School to Donegal High School. As students review the curriculum guide, they will find general information about our school, course selection sheets, a planning guide, and detailed course descriptions from each department.

Please pay close attention to all course selection deadlines. meeting these deadlines allows us to create tentative schedules for all students by the end of the current school year. Students who would like to meet individually with their counselors to discuss course options and potential schedules will have the opportunity to do so.

The master schedule at Donegal High School is built on student course selections. For this reason, it is essential that students make their choices carefully and with purpose We encourage families to review course descriptions thoroughly and understand the expectations and requirements of each selected course. Please note that schedule change requests will not be accepted after Friday, August 8, 2026.

Sincerely,

The DHS Administrative Team
